My Teaching Philosophy
I believe first and foremost that I have a responsibility to make my students lifelong literacy learners. I think that the teaching of English has almost limitless possibilities. I believe that students should be taught about various topics through the use of literature so that they can learn about reading as well as learn about the world in which they exist. Furthermore, I believe that students should read and write in various genres, both fiction and nonfiction.
I believe that the incorporation of technology into the classroom has become essential in order to ensure a student's future success. To ignore the fact that students will be entering a world more technologically advanced than what we see today would be to disservice them. I therefore strive to use technology in my own future classroom as often as possible.
Lastly, I believe that every single child can succeed, and I intend to help every single student I have the privilege of working with to achieve their fullest potential.
